Wheel 3 Black Edition

Front and back are machined out of solid aluminium blocks, adding weight and rigidity, thus eliminating vibrations.
Our Analog Optical Shibata stylus is cut of a nude diamond, mounted on a lightweight cantilever in an advanced suspension.
Our new Harmony preamp has an improved design and tuning to perfectly match the new Shibata stylus.
Wheel 3 Black Edition plays vinyl records from the back. All technology is inside, putting the record in front. It plays LP’s, singles and 10 inch records at 33,3 or 45 rpm. It can be placed flat on a table, set upright on a stand, or mounted on a wall.
Optical Analog Shibata
We developed a new optical stylus for the Wheel 3 Black Edition. The Shibata shaped tip is a nude diamond, mounted on a lighter cantilever. The optical system tracks the movement of the stylus without adding mass or resistance. The unparalleled tracking precision improves sound stage, clarity, channel separation and low end spectacularly. As a purely analog system, Wheel 3 Black Edition truly unveils the soul of music.
Harmony pre-amplifier
The improved precision of the new Shibata stylus really surprised us, so we redesigned our preamp to bring all that detail across. Our new Harmony preamp has an optimized layout and new components. We equipped it with the very best film capacitors out there to get rid of the last bit of distortion. We meticulously retuned it to perfectly match the Shibata. The low end is deeper than ever, the high end sparkles like never before and there’s an airyness that’s addictive. Nothing beats the emotion of analog music.
Black magnets
The Wheel 3 direct drive motor has proved to be rock solid. We improved tolerances and lubrication flow, and the new black magnets allow for more precise placement in the array. The optical controls smooth out rotational errors to the extreme. Even severely unbalanced record are tuned to perfect pitch. The new analog optical Shibata is immune to the magnet array, preserving micro dynamics.
Slidetrack
Our unique Slidetrack and line display offer a convenient and analog way of playing records. Playing records on Wheel 3 Black Edition feels completely intuitive and natural. To change output volume, just slide over the Slidetrack. To select the next or previous song, pause or play, just click. To move the linear tonearm, click and slide. When a record starts playing, sensors precisely scan the surface of your record. The display shows the track positions, and a bright led shows the status and the position of the Shibata stylus.
Connections
Wheel 3 Black Edition is powered by 5 volt DC. A balanced USB-C power supply is included. A high-end line output serves almost all uses. The gold plated 3,5 mm aux socket accepts wired connections to headphones, amplifiers and active speakers. Wheel 3 Black Edition easily connects to systems like Sonos*, Bang & Olufsen, and Devialet.
Integration
Wheel 3 Black Edition’s control system never gets in the way. It’s the mature outcome of years of development, and is refined as it’s simple. The advanced interplay between motors, sensors, electronics and software is invisible to the user. Combined with the direct drive motor and the rigid linear tonearm, it’s look ahead strategy calculates all deviations in just one 360° turn, including unbalanced, off-center and warped records. Because it also continuously compares stylus and arm position measurements, it is pitch perfect from the first note. The Shibata’s tracking and groove contact precision is second to none.

Where other turntables start to jump or transmit low-frequency rumble, the Wheel simply tracks through it – cleanly, precisely, and without any signs of strain. That’s genuinely impressive.

In the box
Wheel 3 comes in a compact box packed with accessoires. For vertical and wall placement, a wall mount adapter and an aluminium stand are included. A magnetic puck, a stylus brush and a user manual are also in the box. Each Wheel 3 also come with a EU, UK, US or AU power supply and a 2 meter power cable.
