Wheel 3 is a revolutionary high-end analog turntable with an analog optical stylus. It plays vinyl records from the back. All delicate technology is mounted inside, putting the record in front. Wheel 3 plays LP’s, singles and 10 inch records at 33,3 or 45 rpm. It can be placed flat on a table, set upright on a stand, or mounted on a wall.

Wheel 3 uses a true elliptical diamond stylus that physically tracks the record groove. Unlike magnetic cartridges, Wheel 3’s system uses light to turn movement of the stylus into analog sound. Because light has no mass or resistance, there is no distortion. Wheel 3’s optical analog stylus brings you closer to the music.

Sometimes a seemingly complex solution is the simplest way to go. Wheel 3’s optically controlled direct drive motor adjusts speed 1000 times per second for true perfect pitch audio. Torque is optimized to play even the most out of balance records. Wheel 3’s analog optical stylus is completely immune to the rotor’s magnet array, preserving micro dynamics.

Wheel 3 is powered by 5 volt direct current. A balanced usb-c power supply is included in the box. A high-end line output serves almost all uses. The gold plated 3,5 mm aux socket accepts wired connections to headphones, amplifiers and active speakers. Wheel also directly connects to Sonos*, Bang & Olufsen, Devialet and other home hifi systems.

It took us four years to develop a working control system for Wheel 2. It is a complex interplay between motors, sensors, electronics and software. Wheel 3’s self learning motion system is truly next gen. Combined with the direct drive motor and the rigid linear tonearm, it’s look ahead strategy calculates all deviations in just one 360° turn, including unbalanced, off-center and warped records. Because it also continuously compares stylus and arm position measurements, it is pitch perfect from the first note. Tracking and groove contact precision are second to none.
