Wheel 3 plays records from the back, giving you an unobstructed view of your record, hiding all technology below it. Wheel 3 works in any orientation, flat on a table, upright on a stand or wall, or even mounted on a ceiling.
Adaptive arm force
Wheel 3’s tonearm is fixed to a closed loop linear motor. This motor corrects as soon as it detects the slightest transverse force on the needle. With the resulting movement, the Wheel 3 calculates how off-center the grooves are (a major contributor to wow and flutter). The information is sent back to the direct drive plateau motor, which then adds a counter-movement (anti-wow) to neutralize the wow you would hear on other turntables. This elimination of wow makes Wheel 3 unique.
Continuous position sensing keeps the needle tip perfectly aligned in the groove, at constant pressure, in the perfect position and angle at all times.
Because of Wheel 3’s upside-down design, we could place the optical sensors to just 1,5 mm away from the needle tip, registering all movement where it happens.
This way, music reproduction is extremely precise and detailed, and groove wear is reduced to an absolute minimum.
This level of tracking accuracy is impossible to achieve with a conventional tonearm and magnetic stylus.
Your vinyl and stylus live much longer, and your analog music never sounded richer and more real.
